We have designed the license to be stress-free.  The goal of the licensing agreements is to bring the world of Neiyar to as many game systems as possible.  As such, we have made the license easy to use and affordable for both independent creators and established publishers.

Independent Creator License ($79/year):

For self-publishing creators who intend to only produce and sell a limited number of products in either digital format or POD format. This license is perfect for the hobby publisher who only creates a few products a year and would like access to a ready-made world with a built in player base.

*Publish up to six digital and one print supplement within a licensed year.

*Includes one print copy of the Core Setting Sourcebook.

*Each supplement must be submitted for final review before being published. Final review included free proofreading to catch typos, grammar errors, and formatting problems.  Please note that this final review should not be considered a substitute for professional editing or proofreading, and supplements with excessive grammar or formatting problems will be rejected.

*Accessible Support: Access to a dedicated forum in which to ask design questions, get advanced notice regarding upcoming metaplot points for the setting, or seek advice on production and marketing.

Digital Publisher License ($149/year):

For those established RPG publishers that only produce digital content. For those professional publishers who deal exclusively in digital products and want the freedom to offer an unlimited number of products without restraint.

*Publish an unlimited number of digital products during the licensed year.

*Includes three print copies of the Core Setting Sourcebook to distribute to staff.

*Voluntarily submit products for pre-publication review. Review includes free proofreading to catch typos, grammar errors, and formatting problems.  Please note that this final review should not be considered a substitute for professional editing or proofreading.

*Accessible Support: Access to a dedicated forum in which to ask design questions, get advanced notice regarding upcoming metaplot points for the setting, or seek advice on production and marketing.

Print Publisher License ($249/year):

For those established publishers that produce print products instead of or in addition to digital content. This license is for those publishers that need the most flexibility and freedom to create and distribute products through a variety of media and sales channels.

*Publish an unlimited number of digital and print products during the licensed year. Includes five print copies of the Core Setting Sourcebook for distribution to staff.

*Voluntarily submit products for review. Review includes free proofreading to catch typos, grammar errors, and formatting problems. Please note that this final review should not be considered a substitute for professional editing or proofreading

*Accessible Support: Access to a dedicated forum in which to ask design questions, get advanced notice regarding upcoming metaplot points for the setting, or seek advice on production and marketing.

Universal License Highlights:

*Each license includes at least one print copy of the Neiyar: The Demon Plague Core Setting Sourcebook, as well as early digital galley copies of each supplemental setting sourcebook at least one month before it is released for sale to the public.

*Licenses are renewed annually. However, renewal of license is not required to continue selling products already published in a licensed year. For example, if a publisher publishes an adventure module in November and the license expires in December, the publisher can continue to sell that module into the next year even if the license is not renewed. The license must be renewed, however, to publish new material.

*No royalty payments are required on the sale of licensed supplements.

*Licensed supplements are promoted through Bards and Sages alongside our core setting supplements.

*A copy of the final product must be sent to Bards and Sages within 30 days of release for our records.

 Important License restrictions:

Supplements must adhere to the license agreements of their associated game mechanic systems. In all such licenses, the ownership of the Neiyar: The Demon Plague Intellectual Property must be clearly noted as Bards and Sages Publishing.

For supplements employing game mechanics that require an official license, Licensee must produce evidence of a legitimate license before publishing.

Supplements cannot employ “meta-plotting” elements that fundamentally change the setting or contradict information presented in the Core Setting Sourcebook.

Supplements designed for mature audiences must be clearly noted as such in all marketing material, and cannot include material that would be considered pornographic or construed to encourage, promote or endorse illegal activities. Licensees can seek pre-approval on a case-by-case basis.
